Amaryllis belladonna – also known as Belladonna Lilies
Belladonna means beautiful lady and these surely live up to their name. They are big and showy flowering bulbs with up to six fragrant trumpets on top of each stem in late summer. They are also known as 'naked ladies' because the flowers appear before there are any leaves in Autumn. Easily grown as a garden plant in poor to good soil with little or no watering during the summer months.
BGBulbs nursery will offer some Belladonna Lilies over the coming years, but for now the best place to find Belladonna Lilies in Australia is at Garden Express nursery in Victoria.
